Our Story

We live in a time with an incredible amount of access to information, a detailed understanding of all the things in the world which are going wrong, systems which enable us to be ultra-efficient and the opportunities to do an unprecidented amount of engaging things with our time. The problem with the lives that we live in this manner is that on top of all of the other pressures which life throws at us, such as health, difficult relationships or financial struggles, we have a new layer of never ending information. What should we read or watch next? How on Earth do I cope with the news I’m reading? Which of my many tasks should I do next? What shall we do this evening/weekend? It is overwhelming.

So what do we do about it? The answer will be different for all of us, but is tied up in learning how to live a Sustainable Way of Life which takes into account our current culture and allows us to focus upon what is most important.

In this blog I hope to be able to share our journey in pursuing this goal, and to be able to share some of the lessons that our family has learned along the way. I hope you find it useful. We are a family with two young children and we’ve recently moved from a semi-detatched victorian terrace in South West Birmingham to a bungalow in the rural countryside of Herefordshire.
